A new exhibit of still-point painting is now opened at the Life Energy Arts Galley in Mt. Kisco.
Such exhibits can be advertised and promoted throughout the community with flyer printing.
The exhibit showcases the work of Dr. John Diamond from Australia who is an artist, holistic healer, and psychiatrist. Karla Booth, curator of the gallery, said that Diamond’s purpose in creating these pieces was to increase his own energy and that of those viewing his work.
Diamond practiced acupuncture theory, holistic medicine, complementary medicine, and psychiatry and pioneered the link between emotions and acupuncture meridians. Art was used in his healing practices as an additional form of therapy.
Booth said that Diamond was interested in how people’s mental and emotional frustrations were helped by doing a creative act. She added that he was involved in writing, music, art, and any kind of creativity that would raise one’s level of energy. The still-points on exhibit are freeform and stylized and are inspired by Japanese and Chinese calligraphy. Booth said that the pieces are striking with lots of big strokes and circular movement.
This exhibit will be on display until October. Some of the pieces will become part of the permanent collection and others will be rotated out. Prints of the pieces are being made available for purchase.
