Mt. Kisco has renewed its contract for police services with Westchester County. Under the contract, the County will continue to provide municipal police services to the town for the next five years. The contract was approved by the Westchester County Board of Legislators.
Such agreements and their benefits can be made known to the community through poster printing services.
Gina D. Picinich, mayor of Mt. Kisco, commented that it was important to continue and strengthen the town’s relationship with the police from the county so that high quality services can be delivered at a reasonable price to residents of the community. The town will now be availed of extensive resources and well-trained officers who play a significant role in the community, the most recent technology, and strategies that are forward-thinking.
George Latimer, County Executive, added that this agreement demonstrates how shared services and collaboration can provide better levels of service and significant savings. Mt. Kisco will have more protection from the police at a lower cost than if the town had its own police department.
The Mt. Kisco Police Department was disbanded in June 2015 at which time its 24 members became members of the county police department. Since the county and the town have partnered on police services, residents have been afforded several million dollars in savings and gained more officers on patrol.
The renewed agreement goes into effect on January 1.
