A new ShopRite supermarket is now open in Mt. Kisco.
The supermarket is on N. Bedford Street and spans 74,000 square feet. It occupies part of what was once a warehouse distribution center for the Grand Union supermarket chain.
The president of ShopRite Supermarkets, Inc., Steve Savas, said that this is a bigger store with an elevated shopping experience and new amenities that will deliver the value, variety, and quality for which ShopRite is known. He added that the store has focused on sustainable design and has expanded departments of fresh food, and will better meet the needs of today’s shoppers while also being a valuable addition to the community.
There are Caper Carts, which are smart shopping carts using technology that enable customers to scan items as they shop. This same technology will enable customers to order online and have their orders delivered or made available to be picked up in the store.
Among the fresh food options is Fresh to Table, where complete meals and fresh foods are available. These include freshly made sushi, ready-to-bake dishes, side dishes, chef-prepared entrees, and fruits and vegetables that are pre-cut in addition to cakes and desserts.
Such stores can take advantage of flyer printing to promote their unique offerings and weekly specials.
It is expected that about 200 people will be employed at the new store.
