A new affordable housing complex is currently under construction in downtown Peekskill that will have 82 energy-efficient apartments. Residents of Mt. Kisco might want to consider checking out these new units in a nearby area.
Governor Andrew Cuomo said that this development will cost $21.9m and is part of his five-year plan to construct affordable housing in the state. Cuomo said that residents of New York should have decent, safe, and affordable housing, and that this new development will add to the state’s strategic investments in downtown areas. Flyer printing can be used to offer more details about such housing to attract people to the downtown.
Those who qualify for these apartments earn between 40-80% of the medium income in the area. There will be 14 three-bedroom apartments, 50 two-bedroom apartments, and 18 single-bedroom apartments. All apartments will have individual heating and cooling systems, and energy-efficient Energy Star appliances. Among the amenities in the complex will be a landscaped courtyard, a laundry room, a gym, and a community room with a kitchen.
The construction of this complex is being made possible with $12.3m in subsidies provided by the New York State Homes and Community Renewal program, as well as $12.1m in low-income housing tax credits. Andre Raine, mayor of Peekskill, expressed his gratitude to the governor for the new development, which he notes will help towards the city’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative Plan.
