A new state-of-the-art Electrophysiology Lab is now opened in Northern Westchester Hospital (NWH) in Mt. Kisco.
The lab will be offering advanced treatment, expert diagnosis, and specialized testing for all types of irregularities with heart rhythm. The lab will have many medications to resynchronize heartbeats and procedures to remove heart tissue that causes abnormal heart rhythms. Typically, physicians refer patients to the lab once they have had an abnormality in the electrical system of the heart as found with an EKG or have had an episode of palpitations, dizziness, or fainting.
Dr. Subbarao Choudry, director of the Electrophysiology Lab, said having this lab at the hospital is very important to be able to work closely with the Cardiac Catheterization Lab so that advanced and comprehensive cardiac services can be offered in the community. Such labs often use flyer printing services to provide more details about such services and the conditions they treat.
Executive director of NWH, Derek Anderson, said that advanced cardiac care is part of the hospital’s commitment to enhancing the care provided in the community. Before the existence of the Electrophysiology Lab, he added, people had to travel to a major hospital center or New York City to receive such treatments and care but now these services are available locally and will be of great benefit to those who will be served.
