National furniture store comes to Mt. Kisco

What was once the location of Annie Sez in downtown Mt. Kisco will soon be the home to a HomeGoods store now that a lease has been signed.

The announcement of the signing of the lease was recently made at a meeting of the Village board made by Mayor Michael Cindrich. The home furnishings chain which sells its items at large discounts will be in the heart of downtown.

The next step for the store, the Mayor pointed out, is for the store to get approval from the Planning Board.

The owner of the property, Peter Kempner, a principal of Kempner Corp. based in White Plains, said that his company, which is involved in commercial real estate, is very excited about having the store in Mt. Kisco as it will be a retail anchor for future development and also provide for future economic growth. It is one of the tenants that people look for in big retail establishments.

The prices of items at HomeGoods are typically between 20 and 60 percent below those of specialty and retail department stores but the items offered to customers are home fashions from all around the world.

Stores such as this often carry out banner printing and display these Banners on a site to inform community members of changes in leases and to promote their goods and services.
