Mt. Kisco to celebrate 150 years anniversary

Mt. Kisco is celebrating its sesquicentennial of incorporating as a community with some inaugural events later this month.

Poster printing can be used to promote such special events throughout a town.

The ceremonies will kick off on the first day with a dedication of the Will Jennings Garden. This will be followed by an opening ceremony of the sesquicentennial on the steps of Village Hall. Ralph Vigliotti, president of the Mt. Kisco Historical Society, and Mayor Michael Cindrich will be leading off this event.

Fromm noon to 4:00 pm, there will be trolley tours and exhibits at the Village Green. Specially curated tours led by the Mt. Kisco Historical Society will travel through the history of Mt. Kisco. The tours are courtesy of the Mt. Kisco Chamber of Commerce. There will also be an historic exhibit in the post office of images of the 1930s and original murals on the wall that have been preserved by the early century post office. More than 30 non-profit organizations and community groups will be greeting visitors and sharing their information along with live entertainment in the afternoon. Food trucks will be around later in the afternoon by Mt. Kisco Recreation to benefit the Leonard Park Fund.

The next day will be the grand parade featuring a regalia, community organizations, and marching bands through the downtown. This will be followed by an anniversary party behind the Village Hall for food, fun games, and entertainment.

These events will take place on Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1.
