Mt. Kisco to become home for new bookstore

A Barnes and Noble bookstore will be coming to Mt. Kisco.

The bookstore will be in what was once the space for Walgreens and Rite Aid on S. Moger Avenue.

The space spans 14,000 square feet and will feature Books, games, gifts, educational toys, and a Barnes and Noble café.

The senior director for store planning and design, Janine Flanagan, said the design of the bookstore will be like that of newer locations such as those in Hartford, Connecticut, and Hartsdale.

Poster printing can be used to inform residents of such new stores and their features and offerings.

Co-Executive Directors of Mt. Kisco Chamber of Commerce, Loretta Brooks and Beth Vetare Civitello, said the store will be an excellent addition to the vibrant downtown area. They added that this investment by Barnes and Noble in the community of Mt. Kisco demonstrates their support for the community and their commitment to the residents, businesses, and those communities north of Interstate 287.

Karen Schleimer, Trustee of Mt. Kisco Village Board, expressed her excitement about Barnes and Noble coming to the village. She added that this will be highly advantageous for Mt. Kisco and that the community is looking forward to its opening.

The lease that Barnes and Noble signed for the space begins on Friday, August 2 and the company expects to open the store sometime in the fall.
