The annual Westchester County Fair and Affordable Housing Expo is coming to the Westchester County Center in White Plains, close enough to Mt. Kisco for those in the area to attend.
On the day, there will be workshops and seminars on renting or buying low-cost housing in the county. Mortgage lenders, realtors, and not-for-profit counselors will be on hand to answer questions from attendees.
The first afternoon workshop during the Expo will be on Fair and Affordable Housing (FAH) and focuses on the Homeseeker Online website, where those interested in low-cost apartment rentals and homeownership opportunities in Westchester can get the information they need. Those who attend this workshop will also learn about affirmative marketing, fair lending, the application and selection process for FAH, and homeownership and rental opportunities from FAH.
The second afternoon workshop will be on Rental Housing, and attendees will have an opportunity to meet individually with not-for-profit counselors who can describe and advise them on the process of finding FAH rentals.
Sponsors of the event include Westchester County, the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors, Inc. and the Westchester Interfaith Housing Corporation.
The Expo will be held on Saturday, March 14, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Event sponsors frequently work with local printing companies for creating materials needed at an expo. These can be given out to attendees for future reference.
