Hospital in Mt. Kisco recognized as award winning

The America’s 250 Best Hospitals Award for 2024 from Healthgrades has been given to Northern Westchester Hospital (NWH) in Mt. Kisco.

It is the only hospital in Westchester County to receive this award, and is among the top five percent in the country. NWH was also ranked number two in critical care, and number five in both stroke care and neurosciences in the state by Healthgrades. News of such awards and rankings is often made known throughout a community with flyer printing.

Over 30 procedures and conditions are evaluated by Healthgrades at close to 4,500 hospitals across the country to determine the America’s 250 Best Hospitals Award. The actual performance of each hospital is evaluated in comparison to the predicted performance of that hospital, based on the application of a specific model of risk-adjustment.

The focus is on patient outcomes when the determination is made regarding specialty care. Last year, NWH received eight distinctions for specialty care from Healthgrades.

Sherri Sandel, Medical Director and Director of Medical Education at NWH, said that the recent research done by Healthgrades reflects the hospital’s steadfast dedication to high-quality and excellence in the care of its patients. Sandel added that these rankings affirm that NWH is a top hospital in the region and offers specialty care that is among the best in New York State.
