Hospital in Mt. Kisco receives special recognition

The Orthopedic and Spine Institute of Northern Westchester Hospital (NWH) in Mt. Kisco has been recognized for its meticulous approach to a medical procedure that is becoming increasingly common.

The Gold Seal of Approval for Advanced Total Hip and Knee Replacement Certification from the Joint Commission has been awarded to the hospital, just one year after it was initially certified for demonstrating continuous compliance with the performance standards of the commission. This award also reflects the commitment of NWH to providing high-quality, safe care for its patients.

Banner printing can be useful to make the public aware of such distinctions, as it can draw attention to the beneficial procedures of the hospitals that lay claim to them.

The certification focuses on rehabilitation activities, pre-surgical orthopedic consultations to ambulatory or hospitalization surgical center admissions, and follow-up visits with orthopedic surgeons. It is offered through collaboration with the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

The Executive Director of NWH, Derek Anderson, said an interprofessional effort is required for the level of expertise this certification brings with it. He added that the dedication and commitment of the hospital’s multi-disciplinary team to attain this level of care is impressive. He said that the team is one of the best in the region and is committed to ensuring that the highest standards of clinical care are met for its patients.
