Senator Terrence Murphy recently honored two Town Clerks and an EMT as recipients of the Women of Distinction Award of the 40th Senate District for 2017.
The ceremony was held at the Mt. Kisco Elementary School and celebrated the accomplishments of women who live in the Hudson Valley and have contributed to improving their communities through their achievements in education, charitable works, and business.
Murphy said in a statement after the ceremony that peers and fellow community members nominated these women for their tireless efforts, exemplary service, and ability to make positive changes.
The wife of the Senator and a registered nurse at Northern Westchester Hospital for the past 25 years, Caroline Murphy, was the Master of Ceremonies for the evening.
The Statewide Woman of Distinction honoree for 2017, Paula Miritello from Yorktown, was the guest speaker. She spoke about the charitable organization she founded in 2013 that provides furnished apartments for formerly homeless veterans.
Barbara Cutri from Mt. Kisco was one of the recipients of the Women of Distinction Awards. Currently, she is the Director of Operations at the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester and a member of the Mt. Kisco Lions Club, Bedford Network, and the Latino Providers Network.
Ceremonies like this can benefit if a newsletter printing company is used, which can create an informative letter about the recipients and their contributions to their communities.
