Developer looks to add family entertainment to Mt. Kisco

Zoning changes were recently approved by the village of Mt. Kisco Board of Trustees that will allow for new recreational choices and a ShopRite at 333 N. Bedford Road.

The property is owned by Diamond Properties. Mayor Gina Picinich said this means that any proposals for recreation and entertainment and the ShopRite will need to be approved by the Planning Board and will help to address concerns in the community about light and noise pollution.

Officials from Diamond Properties said there has been a shift from warehouse tenants to family recreation and the creation of a ShopRite and businesses involved in entertainment will enable better use of the property. In addition, there will be no construction of new buildings, but the company said it will improve the coordination of traffic signals in the area, install crosswalks, and make other upgrades so that pedestrians and vehicles in the area will be safer.

Diamond Properties is looking to add an obstacle course and a curling rink to the property as it feels these are better recreational businesses than the existing Rockin' Jump, Spins Bowl New York bowling, and a Grand Prix New York amusement center/indoor kart track that are already on the property.
