A Comprehensive Wellness Center has been established by The Boys and Girls Club of Northern Westchester in Mt. Kisco.
This program is geared towards children between the ages of 3 and 18 who are involved in the programs at the club, as well as their families, the staff, and members of the community.
Two mental health professionals lead the program, which is funded by a Westchester County grant. The program is designed to provide healthy outlets and support for the The Boys and Girls Club to help everyone communicate more effectively, regulate emotions, deal with stress, and manage conflict using problem-solving techniques. Such new programs often use brochure printing to provide more details about their offerings and benefits.
The program will provide mental health counselling, as well as art therapy and other physical and therapeutic activities to promote overall wellness. The staff at the club have been trained for over 40 hours to help them develop strategies that will incorporate philosophies of mental health into all the programming at the club.
CEO of The Boys and Girls Club, Alyzza Ozer, said that the wellness center will create a lasting and meaningful experience of well-being, health, and empowerment for the communities served by the club. Ozer expressed her gratitude to the county for providing the funding so that this program could be started.
