Chicken restaurant looks to a new coop

The Kickin’ Chicken in Mt. Pleasant recently announced that it is planning to move to the site of a former gas station by next May.

The new restaurant will be 6,000 square feet in size and will replace the current 8,000-square-foot restaurant. It will be part of a larger building of about 30,000 square feet that will include retail and office space, being developed by Gramling Brothers, based in Charleston. Although their lease expires in January 2016, a six-month extension has been granted to the owners of the restaurant.

Co-owner David Miller and his business partners, Bobby Perry and Chip Roberts, have been looking at the new location for some time, but the intersection at the new location (which had been reconfigured as a critical left turn for people to get to the restaurant) had been eliminated. However, they added that there will be a lot of energy and synergy on the street of the new location.

Kickin’ Chicken serves a variety of salads, along with chicken nuggets, tenders, and wings with a choice of sauces. The restaurant also offers take-out and catering services.

There are five Kickin’ Chicken locations in the Charleston area. To inform the community of this move, a postcard printing service may be used to create a direct mailer to send out to the community.
