Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center has opened a new state-of-the-art facility in West Harrison, just a short drive from Mt. Kisco, which will be providing cancer care to those living in the Putnam, Dutchess, Westchester, Orange and Rockland counties of New York and Fairfield County in Connecticut.
According to the President and CEO of MSK, Dr. Craig B. Thompson, this new site will enable the Center to extend its services and expertise to where patients live and work outside of New York City. The Center originated 130 years ago and, since then, has been able to detect many cancers at their earliest stages, find those treatments that can prevent or stop their growth, and improve life for those with cancer and their loved ones.
This outpatient facility opened on October 6 and is 114,000 square feet in size and will have more than 30 doctors with expertise in radiology, dermatology, and medical and radiation oncology. There will programs for high-risk cancer screening, genetic counseling, social work and consultations with certified dietitian-nutritionists. There will also be a pharmacy, café with quick and healthy selections of food and outdoor spaces where one can enjoy these items or just take in some fresh air.
Flyer printing is one way that the Cancer Center can provide more information about its services and capabilities about cancer treatment to those in the local community.
