The Hamlet, a retail establishment that will feature Books, food, vinyl records, and gifts from Great Britain will be opening in Mt. Kisco later this month.
The store is owned by Drew Hodgson and Karen and Mike Ransom. Hodgson moved to the United States, specifically Mt. Kisco, with his wife and their daughters after touring a musician in the 1900s. He and the Ransoms have been wanting to open such a store for many years.
The food items will be primarily dry goods and nonperishable snacks, and will imported from England. Hodgson said that 90% of the store in the store cannot be found in local grocery stores. He added that those who prefer British groceries will be able to find such items as British teas and jellies, frozen foods, sausages, and pasties. Promotional Products are often used to publicize the opening of a new store and the many products it offers.
Those coming to the store will feel like they are walking into a piece of England, with music of The Beatles playing from the speakers, a red vintage phone booth, and murals of the English countryside painted on the walls.
Jen Gerken, owner of Porch, a shop in downtown Mt. Kisco, expressed her excitement on knowing that that such a unique business is looking to invest in the town and open its doors at this time.
