A new distribution center for Nestlé Waters is coming to Yorktown.
Nestlé Waters will be moving into a building that was once occupied by Verizon on Route 202. Offices and a distribution center on the property, which spans 1.9 acres and includes a parking lot, will be built. The property has not been renovated in 32 years.
It is expected that 60 jobs will be created as a result of this new facility. Residents of Mt. Kisco may consider employment at such a facility when it opens for business, and perhaps update their resumés and business card printing orders.
Matt Slater, Supervisor of Yorktown, expressed his thanks to the Planning Board of Yorktown for approving this proposal. He added that the swiftness of the approval exemplifies how Yorktown is open to new businesses as it has revised outdated land uses and streamlined its application process so that such urgent issues can be moved through quickly.
The task force of Reboot Yorktown has been working to expedite permitting processes in the town, particularly enabling stores and restaurants to serve customers in parking lots or on sidewalks during the summer months. Members of the task force are also looking to revise local regulations to be able to attract new housing, new commerce, and investment in the town over the next 10 years.
