The New York State Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIANYS) has named KG+D Architects, based in Mt. Kisco, as the Firm of the Year.
Word about announcements of such special awards is often spread throughout a community and region with flyer printing.
The Firm Award of AIANYS was established in 2005 and recognizes outstanding achievements in education, design, and service to both the community and the profession. The award goes to architectural firms based in the state of New York for at least 10 years.
KG+D Architects originated as Ed Fleagle, Architect in 1934 and later reorganized as KG+D Architects. It has based its practice in Mt. Kisco for 28 years and is the first architectural firm to receive this award that is not based on New York City. It has served clients throughout the Fairfield County and Hudson Valley regions and has built a legacy among its peers.
In addition to creating some of the most recognizable buildings in the Hudson Valley, the firm has an impressive foundation in the local community and the industry. Four of the principals at the firm earned their licenses while working at KG+D, with one starting as an intern while in high school. Team members of the firm are also involved in supporting local community and non-profit agencies by volunteering their time and professional services.
