Massapequa Park residents can tune into a virtual broadcast in June to learn about the fundamentals of backyard tomato growing.
Tomatomania is a presentation where guests can learn tomato planting tips from Jessica Damiano, the creator and host of The Great Long Island Tomato Challenge. During the program, Damiano will cover topics such as pruning, fertilizing, and harvesting tomatoes. She will also be revealing the secrets of how to grow competition-worthy produce.
Damiano is an experienced gardening coach, who has been providing aspiring gardeners with helpful tips for 15 years through her Newsday Garden Detective column. She works as a gardening consultant and is available to give professional talks on horticultural subjects. Damiano also gives history-related presentations, including topics such as the White House’s gardens and the secrets of the Old Westbury Gardens.
The presentation is free to watch, though guests must register with a valid email address. The show will be held over Zoom and is intended for adult listeners.
