Massapequa Park will host a race in June at Brady Park to help raise funds for a local high school’s scholarships.
The Massapequa Firecracker 5K is an activity where people can compete for awards while supporting teens at Massapequa High School. Money earned during the event will help the school give track scholarships to students. Several awards will be offered at the race, including the Roger Williams Award for the man and woman who finish with the fastest times. A prize will also be given to the top male and female finishers from Massapequa Park.
Guests can enjoy several amenities during the fundraising race. Those who compete in the event will get a cooled towel at the finish line. There will even be a post-race festival held at the venue’s picnic area where people can get food and drinks. Children may enter the ¼ Mile Kids Fun Run and enjoy kid-friendly entertainment during the fest. All kids who finish the fun run will earn a finisher’s medal.
The fundraiser will be on June 25. The cost to register for the 5K is $25 per person, and the price of the children’s run is $7. Prices for both events will increase after June 18. Only kids who are 10 and younger may enter the ¼ Mile Fun Run. Those in charge of community races like this may work with Print shops to make ads that increase interest in the events.
