Massapequa Park will be organizing a fundraiser in April to benefit Plainedge High School and the local community.
The Heart of Plainedge 5K and Fun Run is a charitable athletic event people can attend to help Plainedge High School fund its Plainedge Scholarship. Proceeds earned at the race will also assist the organization Health and Wellness of the Plainedge Community.
Both the 5K and fun run are held entirely on the road. Just Finish will time the 5k, and awards will be given to top male and female athletes of each age group. Water is provided on the course, and refreshments will be available at the finish line. The event organizers will place clocks at each mile marker.
Those who partake in the event will be entered into a raffle for a chance to receive donations provided by local businesses. Companies can also support the fundraiser by becoming a gold medal, silver medal, or bronze medal sponsor. Organizations that attend races similar to this can improve their brand awareness by bringing items like promotional Pens.
The fundraiser will occur on Sunday, April 25th and will start at 8:30 am. Registration for the 5K will cost people $25, while the fun run can be entered for $10.
