Families and their canines are invited to attend a special festival in September held at Marjorie R. Post Community Park in Massapequa Park.
DogFest Long Island-NYC is a fundraiser supporting the organization Canine Companions. The group aims to enhance the lives of people affected by disabilities with free, expertly trained service dogs. This year, the goal for the festival is to raise $55,000 towards benefiting Canine Companions. People have already donated over $9,500 to help the organization train dogs and provide ongoing support to human-canine teams. Charities similar to this can promote themselves to consumers by using brochure printing.
There are several incentives for individuals to meet fundraising goals. Those who raise $125 will earn a commemorative T-shirt, and participants who raise $250 can choose between a visor or branded water bottle. Earning $15,000 for the cause will allow people to pick a name for a Canine Companions puppy. Teams will not be eligible for any of the gifts from the fundraising recognition program.
The festival will be held on September 25 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Guests can bring their dogs to enjoy activities like contests and group walks. The event is free, though people should register in advance. All dogs brought to the event must be updated on their vaccinations and be kept on a leash at all times.
