The Paramount, Huntington’s concert hall, is adding a radio station to the venue.
The theater is working with Connoisseur Media Long Island to build a brand new radio station within itself.
Plans call for the studio to be constructed in the storefront of the theater, which is located at 370 New York Avenue. Pedestrians will be able to walk past the theater and see performers as they are being interviewed on the radio. The addition of the studio will allow bands, artists, comedians, and other performers appearing at The Paramount to promote their new works, as well as giving listeners information about their concert tours. Connoisseur Media broadcasts on five stations: WHLI AM, WBZO FM, WKJY FM, WALK FM, and WWSK FM.
It is expected that the studio will be finished in May.
The Paramount is a venue for live music concerts, with upcoming shows that include performers like Howard Jones, the Marshall Tucker Band, and Michael Bolton; as well as Blackhawk & the Outlaws Rockin’ Country Tour and New Found Glory.
Paramount management might consider working with brochure printers on a booklet that would describe the theater and its history, list upcoming concerts, and give a biography and tour information for the current performance. Managers could also work with a poster printing company to create displays for the attraction.
