The Townwide Fund of Huntington, which helps support charitable organizations, has a new boss.

Fund officials recently revealed that Alice Marie Rorke, a long-time resident of Huntington, philanthropist, and volunteer, will now head the fund as its executive director. The fund provides support to over 30 charitable local organizations that provide human and health services to local residents. Business Cards are often created for incoming officials in a situation like this.

Rorke is a former president of Huntington's Junior Welfare League, where she led many of the organization's initiatives during her membership, which encompassed almost 24 years. During her tenure, she worked with many agencies that received Townwide Fund grants.

She also served on various boards and took the lead in improving local schools in the Huntington School District. From 2015 until 2019, she was president of the Huntington Foundation for Excellence in Education (HFEE).

Rorke was graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a bachelor's degree, and worked in Manhattan in merchandising and sales. She also created her own design and marketing business, and has extensive experience in working with nonprofits. Fund officials believe her experience will make her the ideal person to help the Fund's efforts to raise funds.

Rorke said that nothing makes her happier than helping those in need, and that she is excited to join the Fund and work with its Board of Directors to help improve many people's lives.
