Huntington welcomes the new year with laughs

Huntington residents have a treat in store, as a noted writer and comedian is planning to stop in the city.

Marc Maron is bringing his “Hey, There's More” tour to Huntington, where he will appear at The Paramount. For more than three decades, Maron has been both writing and performing comedic material across many different media, including television, radio, stage, Print, and online. His podcast, “WFT with Marc Maron”, is probably his best-known project. On his show, he has interviewed such names as Keith Richards, Robin Williams, and former President Barack Obama. The podcast is downloaded an average of six million times monthly.

On television, Maron is one of the start of the Netflix series GLOW, which also stares Betty Gilpin and Alison Brie. He wrote an original series, “Maron,” which ran on IFC as well as Netflix, and can be seen in the film “The Joker,” with Joaquin Phoenix and Robert DeNiro. He has also released albums and standup comedy specials.

Nothing is off limits for Maron, who frequently pokes fun at politics as well as family – two contentious subjects. One reviewer of Maron's standup comedy said his performance led to a night of laughter in which his “conversational style of comedy was in peak form,” working particularity well as he talked about the latest addition to his family, Buster Kitten.
