Huntington to offer guided art tour

This March, the Docent Tour of the Wood Gaylor exhibit will be available in Huntington.

Available now through to Sunday, May 23, the Wood Gaylor and American Modernism exhibit features more than 20 of the artist’s works as well as further paintings, drawings and sculptures from artists who knew Wood Gaylor. Many of the works have been loaned to The Heckscher Museum of Art from sources including the Maine Portland Museum of Art, the Smith College Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Ogunquit Museum of American Art.

Visitors to The Heckscher Museum of Art can attend a Docent tour with a guide who will offer additional information on the history of various works and answer any questions that guests have. Up to 12 individuals can attend in one group.

Anyone from Huntington who wishes to attend can book a specific time frame in advance for a one-hour increment between 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. At the door, admission is free for children ages 13 and younger and members of The Heckscher Museum of Art. Fees are an optional $5 for nonmembers. To promote limited events, the organizers of similar tours frequently invest in poster printing to create high quality colored printouts that capture the attention of passersby.

The Wood Galore Docent tour will take place on Sunday, March 14.
