Originally hailing from West Islip, Tom Pescuma is now residing in the village and is soon to introduce Doppio Artisan Bistro to Clinton Avenue in the space that Twisted Vine recently vacated.
Explaining the move and what he wants to offer, Pescuma said:
"We want to bring a New York City style brunch on weekends."
Pescuma admits that their are still some things that need to be put in place before the bistro can open (perhaps including menu and business card printing), but has plenty of plans for what the 50-seat restaurant will serve. He said:
"The whole idea is we combine a brick oven pizza casual with full service fine dining menu.
"We'll have lunch with paninis, salads etc., but at dinner, we'll offer more extensive Menus,with pastas, [and] steaks."
With food available to go as well as to eat in the dining area, Pescuma has emphasized that the restaurant will focus on freshness - a concept very much at the heart of its Greenwich success.
Items available at the already established Doppio restaurants include all sorts of diverse pizzas, featuring unusual ingredients like artichokes, Gorgonzola, and pureed butternut squash.
Those wanting to dine out Italian style should keep their eyes peeled while heading down Clinton Street over the next few days, as Pescuma plans to open the restaurant this week if all goes to plan.Get a Free Quote for Menus
