The Heckscher Museum of Art in Huntington will be holding a community arts festival in September.
The Draw Out! Community Arts Festival is a family-friendly event where guests can participate in various art projects while enjoying live performances. The activities held during the fest will include watercolor painting and live model sketching. Attendees can also participate in a workshop offered by Robyn Cooper. The Boys & Girls Club Dance Troupe will be performing traditional dances at the fest, and music will be played throughout the event at the venue’s terrace.
The Heckscher Museum of Art is an attraction with many exhibits that change throughout the year, such as Raise The Roof: The Home in Art, and Salt Life: Arthur Dove and Helen Torr. The current CEO of the museum is Heather Arnet, and the venue’s curator is Karli Wurzelbacher. Many activities are held at the attraction, including guided tours, live musical performances, and workshops for children. The museum also offers virtual reality tours.
The community arts festival will take place on Sunday, September 10 from noon to 5:00 pm. The rain date for the festival is Saturday, September 23. There is no cost to attend the museum’s fest, and the first 100 attendees will receive free art supplies.
