The current Restaurant Week event is allowing patrons to enjoy three-course meals for $27.95 on all days except Saturday, when the cut-off time for the special is 7:00 pm.
More than 30 eateries are taking part, offering a wide range of cuisines for patrons to sample. Among those participating are Fado, a Portuguese restaurant in Huntington's downtown, which offers such fare as an appetizer of potato croquettes served with a cream sauce made with Portuguese sausage. Other options are Cornish hen stuffed with lentils for a main course, and a choice of desserts.
Huntington Station's 110 Japan, a hibachi and sushi house, suggests beef short ribs followed by shrimp hibachi style for a main course, and banana tempura for dessert.
In Melville, the New American Jewel, a brasserie serving contemporary American cuisine, suggests starting with steamed mussels, with marinated skirt steak as the main course, and strawberry shortcake for dessert.
Other restaurants taking part include Neraki, which serves Greek food, and the Storyville American Table, where patrons can feast on New Orleans cuisine such as gumbo and jambalaya.
Restaurant week is on now, and runs through this Sunday, October 18. Event organizers could work with a flyer printing company to put together a mailer for area residents listing the participating restaurants, a very brief description of some menu items, and a map.
