A multi-month exhibition will be held at the Heckscher Museum of Art in Huntington until January.
The 2022 Long Island Biennia is a prestigious event where talented artists from Suffolk and Nassau Counties can promote their work. The submitted pieces will be judged by a panel of jurors consisting of Dr. Susan Van Scoy, Heather Carter, and Gabriela Gonzalez Dellosso. Many of the participants address social issues such as ecology, social justice, and health in their creations. There are around 60 artists in the event, including William Low and Beth Atkinson.
The Heckscher Museum of Art was dedicated to the residents of Huntington in 1920 by the original owners, August and Anna Heckscher. The organization offers educational programming for children, teens, and teachers, such as field trips and in-school crafting sessions. Students and seniors interested in supporting the museum of art can pay $35 for a membership, and regular membership dues for individuals cost $40.
The 2022 Long Island Biennia will be held until January 22. Those who want to vote on which artist receives the Visitors Choice Award must submit their votes by January 15. Guests can take an audio tour with Gabriela Gonzalez Dellosso to hear her thoughts on the submissions.
