The Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington will be hosting the 7th Annual Scared for Your LIIFE film festival.
The Scared for Your LIIFE festival is a horror-themed version of the Long Island International Film Expo (LIIFE). The event will feature short films from several directors, Q&A sessions with filmmakers, and informative panels. Attendees can also take photos with monsters at the festival. A costume contest will be held during the fest, and guests can enjoy live entertainment. The horror host for the event is Jess-O-Lantern, a horror punk-themed singer from Florida.
Those who participate in the Scared for Your LIIFE fest will be competing for several film awards. There are prizes for categories such as Best Horror Short, Best Story, and Best Creature Design. Directors can also win awards for Best Long Island Horror Short and Best Director. This year, the organizers are introducing a new dark comedy award to the show called The Chrysippus Award. Each of the trophies will have unique designs.
The film festival will be held on Saturday, October 21. Members of the Cinema Arts Centre can pay $12 for tickets, and non-members can buy tickets for $17. Any company that wants to sponsor the event can pay $3,000 for the Full Sponsorship Tier, which includes a full-page advertisement in the event program and having its Logo Design featured in the festival’s promotional materials.
