History tour enlightens Huntingtons residents

A local Masonic lodge is putting together an audio tour in Huntington, giving residents and local history enthusiasts the opportunity to learn about the town’s prominent people, places, and buildings.

The Huntington Audio Tour: Lodges, Legends, and Artistic Echoes is preparing to provide the resources to interested parties and registered guests who want to explore the town’s history and build closer bonds. The event, which is being organized by AllTours Audio Tours, will bring new information about the people and legends that helped Huntington grow into the town it is today.

The tour will begin with a look at Huntington’s local legends and turning points in the town’s history that few people know about. Topics covered will be the leader of the group that challenged the British at Fort Golgotha, the secrets kept about the teardown of the Jeptha Masonic Lodge in the late 1800s, and what lies beneath Old Burial Hill Cemetery. Brochure printing can complement such tours by providing more information to guests.

Guests will also be led to Old First Church and its graveyard to learn more about its history. It will cover 2.3 miles and offer 12 different stops in town.

The tour will begin at the Jeptha Masonic Lodge No. 494 in Huntington, at noon on Saturday, November 1st. Tickets can be purchased online for $6.49 per participant.
