A stand-up comic who like to use humor to heal, not belittle, is coming to Huntington.
Jim Breuer has been making people laugh since he first got started in 1989 in Clearwater, Florida. Born and raised in Valley Stream, New York, Breuer was a cast member of “Saturday Night Live” for three years, and appeared in several films including “Half Baked,” which featured cameos by Snoop Dogg, Willie Nelson, and Tommy Chong.
Fans who began following his career in the 2000s know him largely from his “Comedy Central” specials, which have regularly drawn high ratings. He builds his routines now mostly around family, and keeps the material clean and free of profanity.
He deliberately avoids the more sensational aspects of life, such as today's tense political climate, preferring to focus on experiences that are common to everyone in every socioeconomic category, such as aging parents, and dealing with an illness in the family. Breuer points with pride to the “lifetimers” in his audience who have seen him multiple times. Brochure printing can provide colorful programs for events like this.
Breuer will be at The Paramount in Huntington on November 13. The show is at 7:30 pm, with the doors opening at 6:00 pm. This concert was rescheduled from an earlier date due to COVID-19 concerns, and those tickets will be honored.
