Food drive brings Huntington community together

A food drive is set to get underway in Huntington in a few weeks, allowing area residents the chance to socialize and put resources toward a good cause.

The 6th Annual Hibernian Happy Hour, organized by the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, is planning to celebrate the halfway point on the calendar to next year’s St. Patrick’s Day with a food drive. The gathering is being planned with help from Six Harbors Brewing Company, a local business. Attendees will enjoy an evening filled with food, refreshing drinks, and good company.

The money and food collected at this year’s event will go to the Hibernian Outreach program, which aims to help underserved individuals within the Huntington community and beyond. Friends, family, and furry friends are welcome at this year’s gathering. Print shops are an effective resource to lean on when promoting such events around the town.

Interested parties can provide non-perishable food donations and personal care items at the door upon arrival. A special drawing will be held, rewarding the evening’s Door Prize to one of the donors. 50/50 raffle tickets will also be available, giving more guests the chance to end the evening as a winner.

The happy hour and food drive will be held at Six Harbors Brewing Company in Huntington on Friday, September 26th. Doors open at 5:00 PM, and interested parties can RSVP online.
