An experienced drummer will be offering a masterclass in March at The Paramount in Huntington.
The Drum Masterclass is an event where aspiring drummers can learn useful skills from Matt Halpern, a member of the metal band Periphery. Students are asked to bring their own seats, drumsticks, and Notepads to the course. The class may be held outdoors, so the event organizer suggests that participants bring a sweatshirt or jacket just in case. Attendees should think about the questions they wish to ask Halpern in advance.
Halpern is a musician from Baltimore who started drumming when he was three and began taking private lessons when he was six. Before he joined Periphery in 2009, Halpern was part of a group known as Animals as Leaders. He also started the website Bandhappy.com in 2012, which was an educational site where people could take video lessons with established artists. Halpern currently uses drums made by the Pearl Musical Instrument Company and drumsticks made by Promark.
Halpern’s drumming masterclass will be held on Sunday, March 5th from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm. Tickets to the class can be bought for $95.13. Those who are under 13 may attend the drum lesson if they are with an accompanying adult. Instructors for courses such as this may promote their music lessons with poster printing services.
