A crocheting class is planning a visit to Huntington next month with the goal of teaching beginner crocheters the tips and techniques to grow their skills.
The Intermediate Crochet-a-Chicken Class, led by Amanda from Creative Retreat, will be ready to welcome students to the classroom in a few weeks. With help from Amanda, students will enjoy a welcoming environment where they can let their creativity flow and embrace their inner crafter. Amanda has a degree in Apparel and Textiles from Oneonta State University and a degree in Nursing, allowing her to work as a registered nurse.
She will lead students through the process of making two different-sized chickens using crocheting techniques. At the class's conclusion, guests will take the chickens home along with their crochet hooks. Students must be 14 or older to enroll in the class. Poster printing is a colorful way to encourage local artists to enroll in courses like this while spreading awareness of local businesses.
Crocheting experience is required to enroll, with Amanda recommending her Crochet a Scarf class for beginners. All materials will be included in the class and covered by the ticket price.
The class will be held at the Nest on Main on Sunday, January 19th, from 11:30 AM until 2:30 PM. Interested parties can reserve a spot online for $63.74 per student.
