Comedy and fun on the way to Huntington

Audiences in Huntington have a treat in store when a noted comedian, impressionist, and rapper comes to the Paramount Theatre.

Jared Antonio Farrow, much better known as Jay Pharoah, will be entertaining Huntington soon when he appears at the Paramount. Pharoah started performing when he was six, doing impersonations, encouraged by his father, who entered him in a talent show. At the age of 15, he started doing stand-up comedy at clubs and community theaters throughout Virginia. He began to garner recognition for his impressions of celebrities such as Barack Obama, Denzel Washington, Peter Dinklage, Kanye West, and Eddie Murphy.

His career really took off when his impersonation of President Obama went viral on YouTube. He began to appear on television and film, in some intriguing roles, such as that of a rising young black comedian, a character based on Jamie Foxx, in the Showtime series “White Famous.” He also played Nate Hoffman in the psychological thriller, “Unsane,” and will soon be seen with Katt Williams in “2 Minutes of Fame.” His talent for impersonation has also led him to voice work in several animated series and films.

Jay Pharoah appears on January 24, at 8:00 pm. This is the concert that was originally scheduled for August 1, and those tickets will be honored. Poster printing is often used to create advertising for events such as this.
