Breadmaking class offers new skills near Huntington
Huntington residents with a love of baking and an affinity for sourdough bread will want to save the date, as a breadmaking workshop is in the works nearby.
The Hands-On Sourdough Bread-Making Workshop, led by Reanna of Re’s Bread, will use a hands-on format to share information and tips with enrollees, while demonstrating each step to help guests create the fullest and best sourdough bread.
The instructions will cover how to maintain and feed a sourdough starter, perform stretch-and-folds when preparing the dough, and the most effective mixing techniques. Students will also learn the ins and outs of shaping and scoring the dough before beginning the baking process. Printing services can help event organizers by providing instructions and additional teaching resources to assist with information retention through such workshops.
Each guest will receive a sourdough starter to take home, along with a mixing bowl, a printed sourdough guide, and a proofing basket. The event will include a bread and butter tasting, and participants will receive a 10% discount on full-priced items at the host venue up to $100.
The Nest on Main in neighboring Northport will host the bread-making workshop on Saturday, July 12th, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. Enrollment is open online. Interested parties can reserve a spot for $97.88 per person and start reaping the benefits of home-baked bread.
