Weird Al to appear near Bay Shore

Comedic singer/songwriter Weird Al Yankovic will hold a performance near Bay Shore at the Paramount in Huntington. This performance will be a part of the artist’s latest tour entitled The Unfortunate Return of the Ridiculously Self-Indulgent and Ill-Advised Vanity Tour.

Yankovic is best known for his works that parody the songs of famous artists, as well as his own original comedic pieces. Pairing with this is his odd choice of the accordion as his primary musical instrument and his tendency to create music videos that parody those of the original works. The artist has also appeared in several different television shows and films. Included in these are the film UHF, in which he stars as the manager struggling to save a failing TV station, and The Weird Al Show, which was a variety show that features skits and interviews.

In total, the artist has recorded more than 150 parodies and songs, which feature in his 14 studio albums and nine studio albums. For his efforts, he has won a total of five Grammy Awards and has been nominated for several more. His sales have totalled more than 12 million units.

The performance will take place on Friday, May 13. Instead of focusing on the more popular material, the setlist will focus more on obscure songs. The performance will also be stripped-down, with no costumes, props, or video screens. Venues such as the Paramount may be interested in flyer printing services to help promote their events.
