A Bay Shore favourite located directly on the water recently announced that it is now open for the season.
Nicky's on the Bay is located in the Bay Shore Marina, on South Clinton Avenue. Despite uncertain weather, the doors are open, though the restaurant has climate-controlled, enclosed areas for diners until warmer weather arrives.
A new rooftop area, and a new deck have been added, and will be open in the summer months, again depending on the weather. The restaurant also features a floating dock, which has been expanded to a length of 100 feet, where customers can tie up their boats. As might be expected from a restaurant located literally on a dock, seafood is heavily featured on the menu. Appetizers such as clams and mussels are offered both at lunch and dinner, and a raw bar features oysters. Some steaks and burgers are also available, and there are specials at both lunch and dinnertime. The luncheon menu has more meat dishes than the dinner listing, which concentrates on seafood.
Nicky's on the Bay will operate through Labor Day. The hours are 11:30 am until 10:00 pm Mondays through Saturdays, and 11:30 am until 9:00 pm on Sundays.
