Start Making Sense is based in Pennsylvania, and covers Talking Heads almost exclusively. At one time they were performing the Led Zeppelin and The Who Catalogs, when a venue known as The Funhouse asked them if they would cover a different band one night. They agreed, and asked which band the club would prefer. The answer, of course, was Talking Heads. Since then, Start Making Sense has become one of the most popular bands in the area.
Asked what they like about the Talking Heads, one tribute band member calls them “awesome,” adding that he appreciates:
“their creativity and depth and intelligence in their lyrics and just how carefully crafted the music is.”
Another praises their ability:
“to be extremely artistic in a pop medium”
“ layering and syncopation in their music is just mind-blowing for a pop ensemble.”
A review of a Start Making Sense concert said they created a great tribute to Talking Heads and it was:
“an evening of true bliss that fans will remember . . .”
Start Making Sense will appear at the Boulton Center for the Performing Arts in Bay Shore, on March 27. The doors open at 7.00 pm and the show ends at 11.59 pm. Poster printing is often used to create publicity when events such as this are scheduled.
