Local ballet group offers scholarship program

Students at ‘The Ballet Center’ have the opportunity to earn a scholarship that may drastically reduce their tuition fees.

For $20, dancers can fill out an application and audition for one of the 150 scholarships, which will only be given out to students who have good class and performance attendance.

The organization hopes to make dancing classes financially attainable for individuals of all backgrounds. Likewise, it wants to support ‘serious students’ who have the potential to make a career out of dancing or a related field.

Rather than competition, the establishment focuses on performance-based endeavors. In addition, it hopes to provide students with skills that will help them grow as both dancers and individuals.

Along with a wide variety of dance classes, the center has an annual recital, a Nutcracker performance, an apprentice program, and a range of camps. Organizations like ‘The Ballet Center’ will often utilize brochure printers to advertise their programs. A glossy handout could feature photographs, class options, a mission statement, and the availability of scholarships.

Auditions will take place on June 14 at 10:00 am along with July 9 and 16 at 7:00 pm. The Ballet Center can be found on 1863 Pond Road in Ronkonkoma; a community close to Central Islip. To find out more information about the proceedings, call the center at 631-737-1964.
