The Bay Shore-Brightwater Library will offer a resumé and LinkedIn class this January.
Designed to help those involved in a job search or wishing to change their career, an instructor from Sharper Training Solutions, a training firm based in the Long Island and NYC areas, will be teaching the class.
The class will last for two hours and consists of two parts. The first part (held over the first hour) will teach students to craft a resumé that helps them land a job. This will consist of learning how to style, create, and format a resumé as well as make it stand out. The second part of the class (held over the second hour) will teach students about LinkedIn. This will consist of the students learning how to find what they need on the site, such as possible employment and networking opportunities, and creating a portfolio that stands out and looks professional.
The class will take place on Monday, January 10, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Bay Shore-Brightwater Public Library, which is located at 1 South Country Rd. Those interested can call the library at 631-665-4350 for any further information, and should bring any information that will help them fill out their resumé and LinkedIn profile. This might include reference letters, Business Cards, past job information, and Copies of their current resume.
