Handy eyes Homejoy startup

Handy, located in New York, is poised to obtain control over the home cleaning firm Homejoy, which is based in San Francisco.

Handy is a business that has developed an app for domestic services, and website TechCrunch that discussions with Homejoy have made progress. If and when talks concluded, Handy may wish to use a Print company in Central Islip and its revenues have increased significantly this year prior to the proposed move.

Handy has issued the following statement:

“Handy is now more than twice the size than [sic] any other player and is the clear leader in the category. Over the last 14 months Handy has successfully completed two relatively small acquisitions, and continues to monitor the category for other bolt on acquisitions.”

It has been revealed that Handy is responsible for more than 100,000 transactions each month. However, an appropriate price for Homejoy has not been declared as yet, nor has it been stated what might happen to key players at Homejoy, such as chief executive Adora Cheung, if the deal is finalized.

Handy has the momentum to acquire Homejoy because it has amassed more money than its competitor. It has been reported that it has been able to attract in the region of $60m already. In contrast, Homejoy has secured over $20m less than its rival at this stage.
