Hotel developer Ian Reisner has said that he wants to produce something similar to South Beach in Miami. With such aspirations, the entrepreneur could do well to consult a printing company in Central Islip for assistance with promotional activity.
Speaking to Newsday, Reisner said:
“What Mykonos is to Eastern Europe and Ibiza to southern Europe, Fire Island Pines has the potential to be to New York City.”
Reisner has a partner, P. J. McAteer, who is already a proprietor of a club, to assist him with the project going forward. The experience McAteer has gained at the Sip N’ Twirl establishment may prove to be valuable going forward. The plan is that approximately $4m will be spent on renovating properties prior to an opening next year.
The complex was up for sale in part because of a fire that affected the area back in 2011. Andrew Kirtzman, who was a partner in the business that used to own the properties, has said that Hurricane Sandy and the fire both damaged the evolution of his plans.
Initially, Kirtzman and his partners had hoped to create a hotel of the boutique type. However, precious capital then had to be put into reconstruction.
