Eternal Con on the way to Bay Shore area

Comic book lovers and fans of cosplay—dressing in the costumes and using the props of a favorite character—and in particular, fans of Superman, have a lot to look forward to, as Eternal Con returns soon to the Bay Shore area.

This year, convention attendees will help celebrate the 40th anniversary of the hit film ‘Superman: The Movie’. One of the highlights is sure to be the cosplay costume contest.

The original Superman film, which starred the late Christopher Reeve as the Man of Steel, packed theaters in 1978, and will be shown off-site, at the AMC Theater in Roosevelt Field. On hand for the commemoration are cast members from that original film, including Mark McClure who played reporter Jimmy Olsen; Jack O’Halloran, who was Non; Sara Douglas, who played Ursa; and Jeff East, the young Clark Kent.

The convention’s special guest this year is Star Trek’s William Shatner. Other celebrities on the roster Michael Cudlitz from AMC’s hit series ‘The Walking Dead’, and the Incredible Hulk himself, Lou Ferrigno.

Eternal Con is slated for June 16 and 17, at the New Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum located about 20 miles from Bay Shore, in Uniondale, New York. The event hours are 10:00 am until 7:00 pm on the 16th, and 10:00 am until 5:00 pm on the 17th.

Events like this offer so many things to do that organizers might make it easy for attendees by working with a flyer printing company to create a schedule.
