After a month's wait, Chipotle finally opened a Bay Shore location recently. The latest installment in the Tex-Mex restaurant chain is at 1675 Sunrise Highway.
This is Chipotle's 35th restaurant in the Long Island area, and is one of over 2,450 locations around the world. The new store will be open daily from 10:45 am until 10:00 pm. Store openings like this are an opportunity for the store to distribute promotional Pens to early customers, to let others know they're open, and to build the brand.
Chipotle prides itself on sourcing its materials responsibly and locally where possible, cooking them in the classical manner, and establishing partnerships with local organizations. A statement from the company explained that Chipotle felt Bay Shore was a good fit for its products. It is an entirely new community for the company to explore, where it intends to serve food without additives, added flavors, or added colors.
Chipotle states that it is committed to sourcing its ingredients locally and responsibly, making sure that pork it uses comes from pigs that are free to roam, and the vegetables it sources are grown in soil that is healthy. It also points out that meals are cooked on the spot in the restaurants. The concept was new when Chipotle went into business 23 years ago, and it has continued to use these techniques throughout its growth.
