Chick-fil-A to open Long Island restaurant

The Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A has announced that it will open its first Long Island outlet in the middle of September.

The new eatery would stand out within the state of New York because the corporation has not yet established a major presence there. Chick-fil-A could use flyer printing in Central Islip to draw attention to its Long Island location.

According to Newsday, a spokesperson for the fast-food company, Brenda Morrow, has stated via email that the restaurant will be ready for consumers by “mid to late September”. The town board of Brookhaven gave its approval to the location for the restaurant back in 2013.

The eatery is to be positioned on a site that used to be a base for a car dealership. Supporters of the development have suggested that there should be a positive impact on local employment. As a result, Port Jefferson Station may receive a wider economic boost.

Chick-fil-A has its strength in the states that form the South, with particularly high restaurant numbers in Florida, Texas, Georgia, and North Carolina.

In New York State, the company does have one existing outlet. However, it has been reported that this is a small one situated in a cafeteria attached to the University of New York.

Nevertheless, it has been reported that more full-size restaurants in the state are in the pipeline. Commack and Hicksville are likely to see Chick-fil-A outlets in the near future.
