Canine agility event to be hosted in Bay Shore

Next month, the Long Island Golden Retriever Club (LIGRC) has scheduled an Agility Trial to take place in Bay Shore. The LIGRC Agility Trial is officially licensed by the American Kennel Club.

This Agility Trial event welcomes entries for purebred dogs, as well as mixed breed dogs that are recognized by the AKC Canine Partners Program. In order to qualify, all participating dogs must be 15 months of age or older, well-behaved, licensed, in good physical health, and up to date on vaccinations. No lame, blind, or deaf animals are permitted.

Dogs must have a permanent or temporary AKC Jump Height Card that specifies what divisions they can participate in. A judge will measure any dogs without cards.

For the trials, prizes from first to fourth-place ribbons will be awarded to the top dogs in each division.

Registration fees for this Bay Shore sporting event cost $26 per dog. The registration form must be filled out and sent by mail to Long Island Trial Services with an enclosed check payable to LIGRC. When registering for events that require physical Forms, participants frequently turn to local Print shops to produce Copies of necessary entry papers.

The LIGR AKC Agility Trial event is set to begin at the Doggie U K9 Academy on Saturday, April 10 and conclude on Sunday, April 11. Each day’s trial will start at 7:00 am and wrap up by 5:00 pm.
